The only important thing about a painting, in my opinion, is whether or not you like it.
I paint because I want to bring someone’s attention to the beauty in something. Hopefully the precision and loving attention to detail will have an impact on the viewer.
Why do I paint the scenery north of Lake Superior? The paintings don’t come close to capturing the essence of Superior, but I hope they might be enough to convey the meditative experience one has when immersed in this extraordinarily serene landscape.
