In the mid 1950's I came to Canada from England. Since that time I have lived in Ontario and travelled across Canada extensively, enjoying all of the provinces and much of what they offer. The people and scenery are simply unbeatable!
In my mid twenties I hitch-hiked through Europe and North Africa. Since then I have been back to Europe a couple of times and travelled throughout the States, including 3 memorable trips to Hawaii. All of this travelling has of course been a major influence on my attitudes and my artwork.
After a career in the photo industry which concluded with the advent of the digital camera, I decided to pursue painting as a full time occupation. In 2007 I chose to move north of Lake Superior in order to be in the environment that I love to paint. So middle age has brought a shift in my lifestyle as I try to re-establish myself, this time as an artist in the thriving art community north of Lake Superior.
Although I never really stopped painting throughout my life, it feels good to finally change its profile from a "back seat" activity to the main focus of my day.
